6th National Confrence "Climate Change and Biodiversity Conservation issues of Pakistan" will held form June 1-3, 2016 at Bara Gali Summer Campus

A total of 5 Orders in the world of which 3 i.e. Coniferales, Taxales and Ephedrales are indigenous to Pakistan. In Pakistan 9 families, 14 genera and 35 species are present. In this Garden 11 species are conserved through ex-situ conservation.

Natural forests are growing in our country and this group is main source of timber wood and turpentine oil. Some living fossils i.e. Cycas and Ginkgo are conserved here. National tree of Pakistan Cedrus is also growing in this Garden. The following species are growing in this Garden.

       2. Cycas rumphii Miq.

3.    CUPRESSACEAE
       1. Juniperus communis L.
       2. Cupressus sempervirens L.

4.    PINACEAE
       1. Pinus roxburghii Miller
       2. Pinus wallichiana A. B. Jackson
       3. Cedrus deodara (Roxb. ex. D. Don) G. Don.

5.    TAXACEAE
       1.Taxus wallichiana Zucc.

6.    GINKGOACEAE
       1. Ginkgo biloba L.
   
7.    TAXODIOACEAE
       1. Taxodium mucronatum Ten.

8.    ZAMIACEAE
       1. Zamia species.
