6th National Confrence "Climate Change and Biodiversity Conservation issues of Pakistan" will held form June 1-3, 2016 at Bara Gali Summer Campus

World: 200 -210 genera & 2800 species (Tropical & Subtropical)
Pakistan: 16 genera & 19 species (only 2 genera & 3 species are wild)
This garden is presenting some Palm Germplasm of Pakistan, some ornamental, few exotic and some endangered species are also present. This family is source of Date Palm, Coconut, Supari, Sago Danna, Mazri products and oil.

1)    Caryota urens L. (Fish Tail Palm)
2)    Livistona chinensis (N. J. Jacquin) R. Brown ex Mart (Fan Palm)
3)    Nannorrhops ritchiana (Griff) Aitchison (Mazri Palm): Endangered species
4)    Phoenix dactylifera L. (Khajoor-Aseel)
5)    Phoenix sylvestris (L.) Roxb. (Wild Date Palm)
6)    Roystona regia (H. B. & K.) O. F. Cook (Royal Palm/Bottle Palm)
7)    Washingtonia filifera (Washingtonia Palm/Ornamental in Pakistan)
